Using Kraftyhands CD`s in Craft Artist Pro

Hi there
I have been asked on a few occasions how to use Craft Artist Pro with Kraftyhands CD`s so this time I thought I would do a tutorial on how to do this, so here goes.

Firstly open a Kraftyhands cd, I am using Floral Fantasia

open your background papers tag and choose a background paper, I have chosen page 10, click on the camera in the toolbar and click on the image, the screen will turn blue
and a pop up box will appear
click on OK
Open Craft Artist Pro, and select A4 landscape
right click on the screen and select paste your background paper will appear.
You will probably have to resize the image as it will be too big, go to a corner and drag the small box until the paper fits inside the white base.
As I am making an 8" x 8" design I need to resize again, so go to the right hand bottom corner where I have marked on the picture below and enter the size you want
Now go back to the Kraftyhands cd and pick out the design you want to use with your background paper, I have picked out page 15 in the decoupage sheets, dragged a rectangle around the image, and the a box appears to tell you it has copied
click on ok and go into Craft Artist and right click your mouse and select paste and rotate your image so that it is landscape
Now the image needs cropping to get rid of the bit of extra border which you don't need, click on the crop tool in the toolbar and the lines around the image with change to look like perforation lines
click on the small box on the left and drag upto the red frame on the image, click on the top small box and drag again, then do the same with the right and bottom small boxes, your image should now look like this
Move your image off to one side for now as we now need to add some embellishments etc from your digikits. If you have experience of using Craft Artist you will no how to do this, if not I will go through it. Click on Frames where I have marked on the left side of your screen.
Click on ADD and a pop up screen will appear showing all the frames in your digikits, scroll down until you see one you like which goes with the image you have chosen.
Click on the frame and it will appear in Frames on the left of your screen
Drag the frame onto the grey area of your screen and rotate if need be. If you drag your frame over the image it will grab the whole thing and we don't want that.
Now drag the frame onto your image resizing the frame to fit the image if need be.
Once you are happy with the image and frame, click on the frame and go to Styles on the right side and pick SHADOWS, scroll down till you see the shadow you want to put round your frame to make it look 3d. I usually use the 3rd one so the shadow is on the left bottom corner.
Now add some embellishments click on embellishments and ADD where I have marked and choose your embellishments and decorate as you please.
This is my finished project.

Quite basic but that is how I use Kraftyhands cd`s with Craft Artist.
You can go on and add as much as you like or just leave it simple, my best tip is to use the Help tab in Craft Artist as you can learn a lot from that or go on Craft Artist - Creative Cappers a Facebook Group who have a wealth of information also forum.
I use Craft Artist for nearly every project I make when I am using cd`s as I like to resize the designs, and make up a layout before printing all the elements.
You can see the cards I have made at
and take a look at the shop at
Hope I have given you some inspiration
Till the next time

Vintage Trasnport Card in a Box

Today I have a card in a box for you to look at. With a couple of tips.
I have printed the 2 box sheets, a topper sheet and the instruction sheet, to make the box.
You will see in the instructions that the box inside cover is white. My tip is, once you have printed the box outside sheet, turn the sheet over, top over bottom and insert back into the printer and print the same sheet on the back. That way you have a wood effect inside too.

Like this.
Tip 2 When you make up the window box, make sure you have it the right was around before you add your image as the box is slightly wider one way. the window box is a mini pizza box. I glued mine shut to make it neater.

Add your sentiment to the front. Punched out with a Stampin Up Decorative punch.

Thank you for looking today. Please come back soon for the next posting from one of the Design Team Members.

KEW and TIME FOR ROMANCE with another tip

Hi everyone,

It is my turn to post again today.

I am sharing another card I made a little while ago.  This time I have used the lovely 'Kew papers'  (I just love these papers!) and have also used the gorgeous   topper from the 'Time for Romance' topper pack from  Kraftyhands online shop

The dies are Cheery Lynn,  the embellishments came from Live and Love Crafts and everything else came from my stash.

MY TIP - Sometimes I find I have a dilema when white is too stark but cream is too yellowy.  On occasions I find if I lightly ink the edges of the die-cuts and add either glitter of Dutch Doobadoo Structure paste it just takes away the starkness of the white.  This way both the white and off white or cream sometimes can blend and work.  This is not an official tip, just something I have found works for me.

I do hope you have time to pop over and take a look at  Kraftyhands  blog.

As always, thanks for looking, and have a great day!

Sowing the Seeds of Love

Hi there
Thought I would try something different this time. It is a miniature garden tools pot holder.

Items used:
A gravy granules empty pot
Sowing the Seeds Of Love cd available HERE
Various flower dies and a flourish die
Paper for dies from crafty stash
Cream lace
Cosmic Shimmer glue
Miniture garden tools
I printed of a wood effect background and 3 postcard toppers. Covered the pot in the background paper with glue. Wrapped a length of cream lace around the top. Backed the Seed Toppers with paper from my Kraftyhands paper stash and attached them to the pot with 3d foam pads.
Diecut some flowers and flourishes and attached to the pot and finished of with rhinestones to the centre of the flowers.
Added the miniature garden tools to the pot.
These miniature garden tools are great for re-potting plants for the kitchen window ledge.
Hope I have given you some inspiration on what to do with empty pots.
Don`t forget to check out my blog HERE
Till the next time.

Crazy Critters CD

For today's cards I have selected the Kitty cat from Crazy Critters Mini CD HERE
I printed the 2 sheets of decoupage, which have enough parts for 2 cards. Plus a backing sheet and an insert.

As I said, the decoupage sheets have two sizes of cat on them, so you can make An A5 card and another card with a A6 sizing
I made the A5 card very basic.

The A6 parts I made this one with.
Both cards have 3 layers and look really good.

Thank you for looking here today and hope you find some inspiration in the design team cards.

'THE GARDEN' Postcard Toppers and a TIP

Hi everyone,

It is my turn to post again today

I am sharing an embossed card I made a little while ago using this lovely postcard topper from 'The Garden' postcard toppers pack from  Kraftyhands online shop. The postcard topper has been cut into a heart shape which layers lovely onto the gorgeous Joy die from Noor Designs UK.

The outer dies are Tim Holtz,  the embellishments came from Live and Love Crafts and everything else came from my stash.

MY TIP -  When I just can not make up my mind which papers to use I usually reach for my embossing folders.  They make a great alternative to papers.  BUT some great effects can be achieved by actually embossing the patterned papers too.  Experimenting is not only fun but also can be inspiring!

As always, thanks for looking, and have a great day!

A Little Bit Naughty

Hi Folks
Mags here to share a little inspiration with you.
Today I have used the A Little Bit Naughty CD which can be found here.  A delightful CD with lots of super images, papers and toppers.

The image and all of the papers were printed from the CD.  I used some green card for the matting and added some buttons from my stash as embellishments.  As you can see you don't need to add lots of embellishments to create a gorgeous project.  But the beauty of CDs is that you can add as little or as much as you want.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.
Bye for now
