Vintage Motors Clock

Hello all it has come round to my turn again to post some inspiration, it sure does go fast these days,

For my inspiration I have used the Vintage Motors CD available HERE, it is a double CD it has gorgeous images along with this beautiful Clock, I have used a chipboard clock face and hands fittings, I printed a backing paper to cover the face and distressed around the edges, then printed the sheet off with all the numbers , cut around them and distressed these edges too then stuck them into position, then I added the hands.

I have left it as it is but I suppose you could put a coat of varnish on it to protect it. these would be perfect for your craft stalls, they would attract customers and they are a lovely gift.

Thank you all for stopping by for all the DT inspiration post, we hope thay are very helpful for you all.

Until next time

Spring Time Garden

Hi there
Jeanette here, it is my turn again to show you what I have been making.
Don`t forget the blog challenge for May is ending in the next couple of days HERE so click the link and get your creations entered.
Anyway thought I would get some use out of my Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Dies.
I used the largest square Grand Decorative Labels One for the base folded in half to make the card stand up and the Grand Stately Circles for the base of the topper. The decoupage is from the Spring Time Garden cd (available HERE) pages 7 and 8 of the decoupage section. I  attached everything to the card base with 3D foam pads.

Wanted to show this book folding I have been also making, it is a thank you gift to a friend who likes horses. It is my 1st attempt at book folding and I am rather chuffed with it.
You can see this and many more of my craft creations at

Till the next time.

Motor Mania double CD

Todays card from me is a very simple one using just 3 printed sheets from Motor Mania Double CD.
available from the Kraftyhands shop HERE
A brilliant CD for any man or lady, that is car or motorbike mad.

I printed the design I wanted which comes as 2 sheets and I printed an insert.
I have used my favourite paper which is 160gsm Matte photo paper. I find this prints beautifully.
I just cut out all the decoupage and layered up. A very simple card.

Hi everyone,

It has got around to  my turn to post on this Blog again.

I decided to share a card I made a little while ago using the lovely 'Kew' papers and postcard topper from  Kraftyhands online shop. The postcard topper has been cut into a heart shape which layers lovely onto the gorgeous Joy die from Noor Designs UK.  In fact all the dies are Joy dies. The embellishments came from Live and Love Crafts and everything else came from my stash.

As always, thanks for looking, and have a great day!

Vintage Treasures

Hi Folks
Mags here to share a little inspiration for you.

I have used the Vintage Treasures CD (available here) for my card today.  The CD is a fusion of nostalgic photography mixed with silks, doilies, roses, plush fabrics and old costume jewellery.  The CD is packed with card sets, toppers, papers, lace trimmings and inserts.  If you love vintage you will certainly love this CD.

The images and the papers are all from the CD.  I printed them and cut them out before mounting onto light blue card.  As it was vintage I distressed all the backing card and papers.  The additions from my stash are the lace, zipper flower, butterfly and fabric leaves.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think of this card.

Bye for now

Steampunk Tag

I was never a big fan of steampunk until Kraftyhands brought out the Steampunk Emporium CD and I was making samples......then I got it.

Tags have also always been a bit of a challenge, not quite sure where to start with them.

  • I chose the image I wanted and gathered together green and brown distress inks, wooden key, piece of an old book and some cogs cut out of craft card. The tag is a bought one made of card measuring about 20 cm by 11 cm.
  • The background is made with torn pieces of background paper that looks like wood and glued flat.
  • The edge of the tag was inked and then edged with copper embossing powder.
  • A torn piece of the book was inked, had some texture paint added and then edged in gold embossing. It was glued onto the tag with pads and curved to give a ripple effect.
  • I tore the image of the girl into a rough rounded shape and the edge of that was also embossed in gold.
  • The wooden key and the cogs were inked in green distressing ink and also embossed in gold which gave them a rusty appearance.
  • I wanted to add some text, so this was printed on the computer and then inked curved into shape and added.

Morning all Julie here again sharing some more inspiration with you all, hope you are all well.

I have made a card using Kraftyhands Dangerous Dinosaurs CD which is available HERE, it is just perfect for children's cards, Dinosaurs seem to be very popular at the moment.

To create my card I used Centura Pearl  for the base card 7 1/2" x 10", one of the Decoupage collection which contain two image sheets, the background image and the Dinosaur decoupage and sentiments, I also printed out a backing paper and matted and layered onto gold card.

The extras that I used are :-

Wet glue
3D Foam Tape
Centura Pearl Card

I hope I have given you a little inspiration,
Happy Crafting till next time.

What A Hoot

Hi Everyone
This time I have made a card using What A Hoot cd which can be purchased in the webshop .

Using an 8x8 white card I matt and layered a piece of black card, and pieced round the edge with piecing tool. I cut out 4 corner on my Silhouette Cameo in white card and cut out a square lattice in black. I attached this to double sided adhesive sheet and sprinkled with Creative Expressions Clear Micro Glass Beads. Attached the 4 corners and square lattice to the black card. I then die cut 7 flowers and leaves using Creative Expressions Sue Wilson Finishing Touches - Faux Quilled Blooms and added black rhinestones to the centre of the flowers. The centre flower was attached to a die cut leftover which I had cut into for something else. I printed off  2 owls from the What A Hoot cd, attached these with foam pads to a white doily and attached to the card with foam pads. To finish off I matt and layered a Craftworks sentiment onto black card and attached with foam pads.
Just thought I would add this one, the background was made from leftover wallpaper, spellbinders corner die and frame die.  Ribbon from a chocolate box.
The Kraftyhands Blog Challenge for May - Lace and Pearls started on the 7th May, just click on the link above on the right and enter your creations.

Using your CD's to their full potential.

Hi everyone. It is my turn again today. So I thought maybe you would like to know how to make cards using our CDs, in various sizes.

First of all open your CD and find the design you would like to use.
In the CD I have used, Floral Fantasia, the design sheets make up an A5 card. If you would like to make something smaller, you need to go to your printing page.
This is mine.
I have chosen the pages I want to print, which is 7 and 8. Next I clicked on Custom Scale and chose 50%, you can make this any size you wish.
You will see in the white box, the printing area. It is now showing the 50% printing area.
I have also gone into Properties and changed the paper to Matt Photo paper, which is what I use for CD printing.
These are the sheets printed in 50% and 100%.

Once cut out and made up, these are my two cards.

The large one is A5 and the small one is 5x5 inches.

I hope this helps you, to get more out of your CDs.

See you soon,

Linda x

It has got around to  my turn to post on here today.

I decided to make a Wine Bottle Tag using the lovely Dutch Doobadoo template from Noor Crafts UK.  In addition I made an envelope using my Envelope Punch Board (Love it!) from the lovely 'Man about Town' papers and postcard toppers set from Kraftyhands online shop.
Actually there are a lovely selection of tip top quality papers available from this shop which are brilliantly suited for making one of these wine bottle tags.

The die is from Cheery Lynn

What A Hoot

Hi Folks
Mags here to share a little inspiration with you using the What A Hoot CD available here.  This is such a fab CD with lots of gorgeous owl images along with papers and toppers.

On the CD there are some large owl images for making owl shaped cards.  I decided to use the large owl as a topper on an 8 x 8 card blank.  The background has been embossed using a cloud embossing folder.  I added some ribbon along the bottom together with a wooden button.

Thanks for popping by and taking a look.

Bye for now

Crafty Tips from Laura

Hi, Laura here today I thought I would just pass on a crafty tip of two. Sorry if this seems very simple and basic but I thought it might help new crafters. I have cutting machines etc but sometimes it is very pleasant just to 'cut out' by hand.

This is one of my favourite images.  It can be found on the Kraftyhands Butterflies Botanical CD.
This image I have enlarged into Word.
It does not matter what scissors you use these are my choice, but they must be comfortable for you and sharp.

  • Cut off one of the butterflies and cut around it taking off the bulk of the paper as close as you can to the image leaving a border about 3mm. With this butterfly I also cut off the antenna (poor thing)

  • Now return to cut around as close to the image as you can turning it as you cut. You should find that it is easier as you have already cut off the bulk of the paper and lessened the tension pushing back on your scissors. You can get in and out of small areas and the paper curls off to the side.

  • The image now sits perfectly over the other one and the antenna are magically back. On the left you can see the bulky paper cut away and on the right are the wispy bits that more or less fall away.

Here is the finished image. I have glued the head and body flat onto the underneath image and slightly curled the wings placing sticky pads close to the body underneath to hold the wings up slightly.
If you cut out  both of the images you can  glue them back to back to make a dangling butterfly.

Here is the butterfly used in my sample for last months Blog Challenge Natures Work.

Final tip if your scissors are glued up and sticky clean them with cotton wool and a dab of Lavender Oil, I would clean all your scissors in one evening while having a cup of tea or something stronger and chill out.

Hope this has been of help and interest.
